BASIC CONFLICT COACHING WORKSHOP
Conflict coaching is a specialized niche in the field of coaching. It is a one-on-one alliance in which a trained coach assists people to effectively address specific disputes and gain competency in their conflict management skills.
Conflict coaching is a unique dispute resolution mechanism with wide application, not only in the organizational context but also, for coaching individuals to participate in mediation, negotiation and relational conflict. Among other things, this workshop on conflict coaching teaches participants to coach individuals to:
- manage and approach disputes in more collaborative ways
- shift their destructive reactions to conflict, to constructive responses
- develop communication skills for managing conflict more effectively
Content of the Basic Conflict Coaching Workshop:
Among other things, this four day workshop teaches participants:
- how conflict coaching is different from other types of coaching
- the principles and methods specific to conflict coaching
- the theory of conflict coaching, with emphasis on how it applies to the workplace
- about their own skills for managing conflict
- the “how to’s” of coaching individuals about conflict
- conflict coaching as a coach and as a client
- qualities and skills required to be an effective conflict coach
- about pertinent assessment tools
- about the different types of conflict coaching and their application
- the stages of conflict coaching
- conflict coaching skills
- ethical guidelines and standards for coaches

Completion Requirements:
Certificate of Attendance for 28 hours of the Basic Conflict Coaching program, is given to participants who complete this program.
Method:
Through self-reflection, skill-building exercises, discussion, simulations, demonstrations and role plays, participants develop and practice conflict coaching techniques and skills.
Prerequisite:
It is recommended that participants have a background in coaching and/or conflict management.
Participants:
The training will be of specific interest to coaches, experienced workplace mediators and other dispute resolution professionals, who want to learn the fundamentals of a model for coaching conflict.
NOTE: Classes are kept to 12 people, to maximize learning.
